With a long history of working in water safety and rescue, the Gone Swimming team take no risks with your safety. We want you to enjoy your holiday swims, and not be terrified by the over-head-height surf!
As part of the holiday packages we offer, we want to improve your skills. We want to give you the confidence to arrive at a new swim location, and make a decision on whether or not it is safe for you to swim there and then.
Each swim has been carefully chosen by the team, and we will have structured the trip according to your wishes. We have swims for almost any weather, after many years of playing around North Wales, we know the little sheltered spots that mean we can swim almost all of the time.
The Gone Swimming team have got a wide and lengthy history of water safetywork, and although we have got no intention of turning you into beach lifeguards in the space of a weekend, we want people to have a good understanding of the risks that they are choosing to take.
The great outdoors is full of risk, and those that choose to play outside choose to accept that risk. The greater the level of training, the greater the understanding of the risks.
The decision making process to swim or not to swim is a personal one, and can only be based on personal skills, experiences, and ultimately desires. One of the greatest pleasures for the Gone Swimming team is to pack up our swim bag, and head out for a walk to explore the countryside, looking for swims. Each swim we get to, we make the decision to swim or not to swim, sometimes we swim, and sometimes we do not - for all sorts of different reasons.
Sharing our experiences and knowledge during our holidays is an important way for us to help you develop as a swimmer, and to give you the confidence to get out and enjoy the great outdoors as much as we do.
